Adam Gontier is a Canadian singer, songwriter and musician, best known as the former lead singer, rhythm guitarist of the Canadian rock band Three Days Grace (1997-2013). Currently he is the lead singer, rhythm guitarist and main songwriter for Saint Asonia, he has been involved in collaborations with other bands including Apocalyptica and Art of Dying.
Based in Toronto, Three Days Grace original line-up consisted of guitarist and lead vocalist Adam Gontier, drummer and backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst. In 2003, Barry Stock was recruited as the band's lead guitarist, making Three Days Grace a four-member band.
Three Days Grace has released six studio albums, each at three-year intervals: "Three Days Grace" in 2003, "One-X" in 2006, "Life Starts Now" in 2009, "Transit of Venus" in 2012, which was the last album of Adam Gontier era at Three Days Grace.
The first three albums have been certified 2x platinum, 3x platinum, and platinum, respectively, in the United States. In Canada, they have been certified by Music Canada as platinum, double platinum, and platinum, respectively. The band has a string of number one songs on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks charts. Possibly the biggest song of Thee Days Grace, "I Hate Everything About You" reached the second place in Billboard Alternative Songs. Official music video hit 186 million views on YouTube.
